Digital Citizen Advocator

Teaching students to be digital citizens has come naturally during our lessons while we have been teaching virtually.

Encouraging teachers to incorporate the information pre- or post-pandemic would be more challenging, I think.

In order to encourage digital citizenship, I will practice what I preach and lead by example.

Common Sense Education and other companies have created Nearpod lessons for educators to use to teach the rules of being a conscientious digital citizen. I would like to teach a lesson to each class using one of the premade lessons. I would edit the lesson to include an embedded FlipGrid response page for students to verbally explain how they can be digital citizens. I could provide a form for the students to nominate students or staff who are demonstrating digital citizenship and showcase the nominees on the morning announcements.
